Is this neutral? It reads like a punchline. ~~~
- It reads like a punchline because it is what happened. The operation was withdrawn on 8 November and again on 10 December, and the Minister for Defence was asked in the House whether medals would be issued. I have cited Hansard via Johnson (2006) for both withdrawals. If the neutral phrasing and the funny phrasing are the same sentence, we keep the sentence. Casualty figures[edit]
Meredith's 986 is his own claim and the farmers disputed it upward; some later sources say 2,500. Should we give a range? ~~~
- Give the claim, attribute it to Meredith, note the dispute, do not average two numbers neither of us can verify. That is not caution, that is inventing a third figure. HansardHannah (talk) 16:02, 21 August 2026 (UTC)
